It's official, Louis Van Gaal is no longer the manager of Manchester United. The Dutchman and his backroom staff were informed of their dismissals at 8.45 this morning by United's executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward.
'The Iron Tulip' will, barring a dramatic change of heart, be replaced by Jose Mourinho as manager at Old Trafford and the Dutchman is departing the North West with a hefty chunk of change in his pocket.
James Ducker, The Telegraph's Northern football correspondent has revealed on Twitter that Van Gaal pocketed a £400,000 bonus for leading United to FA Cup glory this season and will be compensated with £5m for having his contract terminated a year early.
A one off payment of £5m for underachieving for two years? Not bad work, if you can get it.

United are expected to make an official announcement over the dismissal of Van Gaal at 1pm today. This is to coincide with the opening of the New York Stock Exchange.
