Both Messi and Ronaldo have both built illustrious playing careers on the pitch and are widely considered as two of the best footballers of all time.

According to CelebrityNetWorth, Ronaldo reportedly earns more than $60 million per year on his base salary at Juventus.

The 35-year-old Portuguese forward also earned more than $40m a year from endorsements, with Ronaldo also selling his own self-branded products like clothes and perfume.

According to the publication, the six-time Ballon d'Or winner has a lifetime endorsement deal with Adidas and also benefited from hefty paydays through his partnership with Konami for the Pro Evolution Soccer series.

Messi recently admitted that Ronaldo is one of the sports athletes he admires right now alongside tennis stars Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer and LA Lakers superstar LeBron James.

"There are many athletes who are admirable," he told La Sexta.
