Many will want to forget England's disappointing journey at the European Championships this summer. Roy Hodgson's side stumbled through the group stages without much impetus and the less said about that game against Iceland, the better.

Four months after those iconic scenes in France, a report from the Daily Telegraph journalist Jim White has claimed an unnamed England footballer attempted to engineer an early exit through his agent, prompting questions of players' priorities.

England's commitment was a huge talking point throughout the tournament, as they scraped past the group stages after recording draws against Russia and Slovakia, while a last minute winner from Daniel Sturridge against Wales regained some hope, but all was lost against tournament minnows Iceland.

White has questioned the loyalty of these players when speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live ahead of England's upcoming World Cup qualifier against Scotland.

In the interview, White explains that the unnamed player rang his agent when England touched down in France:

"There was a player in the Euros this year who, when England arrived in France, rang his agent and said 'can you get me out of this?'. That, to me, is extraordinary.

"Is this a mindset amongst the Premier League that that international football isn't as important and Champions League football or Premier League football? I don't know. Is it a collective thing? I don't know."

It begs the question, how many players wanted to be at the European Championships all together? Roy Hodgson was blamed for the exit but what about the individuals? Surely they are part to blame?
