Sergio Reguilon show he has some serious pace to burn in his Spurs debut against Chelsea last week.

The Spaniard didn't get off to the best start at his new club after he has sold down the river by Cesar Azpilicueta, who found Timo Werner for the opening goal in the Carabao Cup tie.

But Reguilon made amends for his early error when he provided the assist for Erik Lamela's equaliser seven minutes from time, picking out the Argentine with a pinpoint right-footed cross.

Some Spurs fans had the former Real Madrid man down as their Man of the Match for the way he recovered from a mistake, and they loved his electric speed in particular.

Late in the first half, Chelsea speedster Callum Hudson-Odoi collected the ball in his own half and darted down the pitch.

Reguilon was nowhere near him and we know that Hudson-Odoi is incredibly quick, yet after a ridiculous burst of pace, he made a superbly timed tackle to win the ball back for his side.

Spurs went on to win 5-4 on penalties after Mason Mount missed the crucial spot-kick and defender Toby Alderweireld praised Reguilon after a strong debut.

[Sergio] was very good, he's very quick, he's able to go forward and defend," the Belgian said, as per football.london.

"He's in good spirits. Everyone makes mistakes but there was a lot to do after that moment but he showed today he has a lot of potential to help us and be good in that position."
