Real Madrid reportedly met with Raheem Sterling in the summer as Los Blancos remain on the look-out for their next Galactico.

The 13-time European giants have been interested in the England star for a while now and back in March they were linked with making a sensational switch for Sterling, who has 36 goals and 21 assists in his last two league campaigns

City tied him down to a new three-year contract in November in a deal said to be worth up to £15 million-per-year once bonuses come into player.

Sam Lee from The Athletic says that although Sterling is enjoying his football under Pep Guardiola, he does have dreams of turning out for Real Madrid in the future.

It's said that the Blues are likely to offer him a new deal in order to fend off interest from the La Liga giants.

Thanks to a series of stunning performances for club and country over the last couple of years, Sterling has grown to become one of the best players world football.

In addition, he's also become incredibly marketable and there was talk last month that the 24-year old was considering a £100 million offer from Nike for him to be the first footballer to wear Jordan boots.

England legend Les Ferdinand believes that a move to someone of Real Madrid's ilk is the natural progression for Sterling.

"If he continues to have the success he's having at Manchester City, then you could see a team like Real Madrid or Barcelona being the next stepping stone for him," Ferdinand told talkSPORT.

"When you look at some of the players playing for those teams at the moment, he'd certainly be in good company if he went to those football clubs."
