Real Madrid Fans Won't Be Happy With Morata’s Comments After Signing For Atlético Madrid

While he might be looking to put his career back on track at Atlético Madrid, Álvaro Morata has burned all bridges with Real Madrid fans.

Álvaro Morata will continue the second half of the season as an Atlético Madrid player after signing on loan from Chelsea.

Los Rojiblancos signed the 26-year-old Spanish striker on an 18-month deal, with the Blues allowing him to leave Stamford Bridge after they secured a loan deal for Gonzalo Higuaín.

However, Real Madrid fans will not be happy with what Morata had to say when he signed for Atlético.

"Ever since I was a ball boy for the club, I've always dreamt of playing for the team," he said (via Football Espana).

"We always had to come to the game two hours earlier and I remember fondly waiting at the entrance with my father, they are such cherished memories.

"I am very proud of this move -- I know the club, the stadium, the shirts, the players... it is a really happy moment for me, I cannot wait to get started.

"I have been thinking about this move for a long time and I have been watching a lot of the recent matches, too.

"I already have felt like I have been part of this club and now I am extra motivated to give my everything."

Of course, the Spain international initially spent four years at Los Blancos before he signed for Juventus in 2014.

Morata would play for the reigning Serie A champions for two years, but that would come to an end after Madrid activated their buy-back clause and signed him for €30m.

However, Chelsea would end up signing Morata from the Spanish club for a fee of around £60m in 2017.
