Middlesbrough Fan Steals Goalkeeper's Water Bottle, Urinates Into It, Then Throws It Back
| Last updated
A Middlesbrough fan has been arrested after he was accused of urinating in the QPR goalkeeper's water bottle during Saturday afternoon's Championship game at Loftus Road.
Footage soon emerged of the incident, showing a man throwing the battle back after reportedly urinating in the bottle.
Fans on Twitter suggested that the fan was later thrown out of the stadium and the The Metropolitan Police's Football Unit confirmed that he was arrested for his actions, according to The Mirror.
As you can see in the footage above, a man wearing a dark jacket is seen resealing the bottle before throwing it onto the pitch.
It has yet to be confirmed if QPR goalkeeper Alex Smithies drank from the water bottle.
Despite the fact Middlesbrough actually won the game 3-0 after goals from Ayala, Traore and Friend, this man's disgusting actions grabbed the headlines.
The man is reportedly due in court next month to face a verdict about his actions.
Here's how social media reacted to the incident:
So apparently a Middlesbrough fan grabbed the QPR goalkeepers water bottle, pissed in it and then chucked it back behind the goal & not long after the goalkeeper took a drink from it.- NUFC Leazes (@NUFC_Leazes) January 20, 2018
Absolutely disgusting little cretins.
A Middlesbrough fan pissed in Smithies water bottle today and threw it back to him. Hope he didn't drink any.- Keith (@smoggyontour86) January 20, 2018
There was a bundle of stewards in the away end to remove someone and we wondered why: a Boro fan stole Smithies water bottle, relieved himself and threw it back in the goal. Enterprising vandalism, so fair play. Footage here: https://t.co/shJ2r2FcTT @hassinator_69- Ted Kessler (@TedKessler1) January 21, 2018
There are no words to fully describe the level of contempt I have for this "fan"- Brian Tea #FBPE (@brian_tea) January 21, 2018

Should this Middlesbrough fan be banned for life after urinating in the goalkeeper's water bottle?
