He enjoyed three seasons at Old Trafford, winning the Premier League title in his debut campaign after leaving Arsenal.

And it appears his loyalty lies with United rather than Arsenal considering his choice of equipment.

Needless to say, United fans loved seeing Van Persie in club-branded shinnies.

"Sad he didn't come earlier. He loves the club man. Van gaal did him dirt," one Twitter user wrote.

A second tweeted: "I will give up Pogba to have this gunman at my club right now even at the age of 36."

A third added: "Legend RVP."

The 36-year-old scored 58 goals for United, including an important free-kick against City back in the 2012/13 season.

And he continued his prolific ways at the Etihad on Wednesday by netting for the All-Stars with his trusted left-peg during the 2-2 draw.

His goal and performance up front sent United fans into meltdown.

Would Van Persie walk into the current United team? Let us know what you think.
