Have you noticed Ole Gunnar Solskjær sitting in a different seat in the dugout to Jose Mourinho?

Well, a few Manchester United fans have picked up on Ole Gunnar Solskjær's positioning. They've also raised an interesting theory as to why he has.

During his reign, Jose Mourinho would be sat in the first row of seats at Old Trafford, closer to the touchline.

However, United's caretaker manager has placed himself behind the substitutes and ultimately further away from the touchline but arguably a better view of the game.

A Reddit user posted: "I haven't seen other managers do this. They usually are in front row seats, the manager's being the closest to the touchline. Is this for a particular reason (He may prefer watching the game from some elevation to grasp the tactical structure of the game. Or some other reason).

"Or is it just his aesthetic preference to not be closer to touchline which strikes as odd tbh. What do you think?"

Other users replied by suggesting he's emulating Sir Alex Ferguson, who also sat behind the subs, as well as making sure the players on the bench are paying close attention to the game.

"I think it's predominantly for a better view of the game like you suggest but maybe he's also making sure the players on the bench are paying attention.

"He always goes on about how, as a bench player, he used to watch the game so intently to find out how he could most hurt the opponent if he came on..?"

"Sir Alex Ferguson always used to have this seating arrangement (as did most other United managers) so he's just learnt it from Fergie."

Interesting.

The Norwegian is enjoying his spell as United boss, winning every game in charge so far, most recently beating Spurs away from home in the Premier League.

He now prepares his charges for a home clash against Brighton on Saturday.
