Wolves broke their transfer record last week when they secured the signing of Fabio Silva from FC Porto for £35 million, but where does he rank in the most expensive Premier League teenagers of all-time list?

The 18-year-old, who became the youngest debutant in Primeira Liga history after being brought on for the final 11 minutes against Gil Vicente last year, also became Porto's youngest-ever goalscorer in their 126-year history.

Silva has all the credentials to become a key player under Nuno Espírito Santo in the coming months, as he attempts to justify his price tag and 'that' Cristiano Ronaldo comparison.

In terms of his competition when it comes to expensive teenagers in Premier League history, Manchester United forward Anthony Martial remains in the number one spot after his £36 million move from AS Monaco in 2015.

Martial's teammates Luke Shaw and Diogo Dalot also feature in the top 10 list, while Wayne Rooney and Anderson also represent the red half of Manchester.

Here are the top 10 most expensive teenagers in Premier League history, from 10-1.

10. Diogo Dalot - £20m

9. Ryan Sessegnon - £25m

8. Moise Kean - £25m

7. Wayne Rooney - £25m

6. William Saliba - £27m

In terms of the arrival of Fabio Silva, the youngster was once compared to Cristiano Ronaldo by Sporting legend Manuel Fernandes.

"When Ronaldo was 17, he played as a centre-forward for Sporting's youth teams," Fernandes began. "I saw him doing things that I'm now seeing a boy from FC Porto do: Fabio Silva. He will be a hell of a player.

"In a short time, he will be an extraordinary striker."

SPORTbible sat down with Silva, just a number of weeks before joining Wolves, and he remembers being compared to the five-time Ballon d'Or winner with fond memories.

"It is something that fills me with pride," Fabio tells us. "Being compared to the player I most admire in world football gives me more motivation to continue working and improving.

"For me, he [Ronaldo] is the best in the history of football, so being compared to such a legendary player. It's an amazing feeling."
