It is believed only two English clubs are 'eligible' to sign Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho in the transfer window.

The England international has been heavily linked with a move away from The Westfalenstadion for some time now, with a number of clubs reportedly keen.

One of the sides that appear to be leading the chase for Sancho's services are Manchester United, who attempted several bids for the talented winger last summer.

The Reds, however, wouldn't match Dortmund's asking price, believed to be around £110 million.

Despite not meeting their price tag, United continue to be linked with a deal for Sancho, which suggests a deal is definitely not off the cards.

In fact, the club were handed a huge boost earlier this week when it emerged that there is a 'gentleman's agreement' in place at Borussia Dortmund surrounding his future, so where will he play come next season?

New reports have emerged claiming that both Manchester United and Chelsea are leading the chase.

Respected journalist Raphael Honigstein told Sport1 that "in his opinion", only the above English clubs are eligible for a Sancho transfer, while his former club Manchester City and Liverpool are not.

As mentioned earlier, Borussia Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorchas confirmed that an agreement is in place with the former Manchester City youngster about his future.

"We already had a gentlemen's agreement with Jadon last year that he can switch under certain conditions," Zorc told ARD .

"He's been with us for a couple of years. However, this agreement does not exist with Erling [Haaland]."

Where do you see Sancho's future? Can you imagine him playing for either Chelsea or Manchester United next season?
