Henrikh Mkhitaryan has said goodbye to Manchester United players and staff this afternoon ahead of a proposed move to Arsenal.

The 28-year-old shed a tear on his departure, according to The Daily Mail, as the Alexis Sanchez transfer finally looks to be on the horizon.

The report states that 'It was very tearful,' departure as Mkhitaryan was a 'very popular figure' at Manchester United. It goes on to claim that the Armenian wasn't happy with the way the transfer was handled.

"We know he isn't too happy at the way this deal is been forced upon him." a source said.

"He realises he has more chance of playing at Arsenal, but he would have preferred to leave on his own terms."

Just 24 hours after Arsene Wenger confirmed a deal was 'likely', Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has finally given his thoughts on the transfer saga.

During his latest press conference, Pep Guardiola has congratulated Manchester United and Jose Mourinho on winning the race to sign Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal.

Here are some of the greatest Jose Mourinho quotes. Sit back, relax and witness some of the brilliant and bizarre.

He declared his opinion of Alexis 'stays the same' after his time at Barcelona.

As you see in the above clip, Guardiola was philosophical after missing out on the Chilean.

"I think Alexis is going to go to Manchester United. So congratulations to them. The players and their managers decide what is the best for them. There's nothing to add." the Spaniard said in the press conference.

"My opinion of Alexis remains the same. It was a pleasure to be with him in Barcelona. I wish him the best."
