Real Madrid have been informed that Erling Haaland wants to play for them, say reports in Spain, with the Norwegian striker eager to become the club's 'main man' next season.

The 20-year-old striker, who is currently valued at €110 million, has attracted the interest of top European clubs in recent months, although his hefty price tag will mean only a select few will be able to attain his services.

In fact, Haaland's agent Mino Raiola has recent claimed that only ten clubs will be able to afford the generational talent as a €100 million release clause comes into effect in 2022.

Despite the price tag, however, Haaland and his bright future will certainly bring suitors and somebody who look more and more likely to make a move for the talented forward are Real Madrid.

The Norwegian forward believes Los Blancos are the 'ideal' club for his career, according to Spanish publication ABC, who claim the 20-year-old is determined to play in Madrid should he leave the Bundesliga in the summer.

In addition to the above reports, another Spanish publication, Marca, also report that Haaland wants to join Zinedine Zidane at the Bernabeu.

Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos recently dropped a big transfer hint when asked whether he'd prefer to sign Erling Haaland or Kylian Mbappe.

"Haaland or Mbappe if I were a coach? I would like to have both of them, but a coach does not sign," Ramos said

"Perhaps, due to the circumstances and the current situation, today I think it would be a little easier to sign Haaland.

"Mbappe is talked about as the Cristiano [Ronaldo] and [Lionel] Messi replacement, and the circumstances are more complicated.

"It would never be bad to reinforce Madrid with a 9 like Haaland, who has something that we do not have: speed, hunger, height. Mbappé has it too, of course, but it would be much easier today to come to terms with Haaland."

Haaland's agent Mino Raiola, meanwhile, has also claimed recently that his client could move to England's top flight at the end of the season.

"It is obvious that everybody is looking at Erling as one of those potential new future stars because it's so difficult to do what he does at his age at his level," he told BBC.

"He will be one of the future stars of the next decade because we see that stars such as Ibrahimovic, Ronaldo and Messi are coming to an age where everyone asks themselves: 'How long can we still enjoy them?'

"So everyone is looking for the new generation."
