Anthony Martial's relationship with Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is certainly temperamental.
It felt like whenever Mourinho mentioned the French winger during the course of last season, he would often criticise him.
For example, ahead of United's Europa League clash against Anderlecht in April, the 54-year-old said: "He (Martial) needs to give me things that I like."

Since then, the former Monaco star has scored two goals in the opening two Premier League games and Mourinho praised his work ethic after United's emphatic 4-0 win over Swansea in August.
"Anthony Martial is working hard. He is confident. The French language connection is there to help him a lot and get to the level we know he can be because the potential is huge." Mourinho beamed.

But the Martial/Mourinho relationship has taken another twist after rumour spread that the winger had been dropped from Manchester United's first Champions League game against FC Basel.
Although it has not been confirmed yet, The Manchester Evening News revealed the United squad to face the Swiss side and Martial's name did not feature.
However, the report states that 'photographers did not see Anthony Martial' but 'he lives nearby and tends to rendezvous separately.'

Here's how Twitter reacted to the news that Martial could miss out on Tuesday night:
Has Mourinho got a problem with Anthony Martial? Does he deserve a starting place in the United XI?
