This 48-Rated FIFA Card Is The Most Controversial Of All Time

This 48-Rated FIFA Card Is The Most Controversial Of All Time

He may not have reached the heights of Neymar or Ronaldinho during his career, but former Cruzeiro striker Wallyson has made a name for himself, thanks in large part to EA Sports

If you're a keen FIFA player like myself, then the name will sound familiar.

Back in the days of FIFA 11, a young Wallyson was arguably the most used card on Ultimate Team. It was a case of when he'd score, rather than if.

Wallyson's legendary 5* skills and 5* weak foot were somewhat arousing, while his 83 pace and 76 dribbling left your opponent dumbstruck to the point of rage quitting.

"Oh the memories" and "I miss him so much" fill the comments section on FUThead. He was really that good...

But why did EA Sports decide to hand him a 48-rated Bronze card on FIFA 11, when he was playing so well for Brazilian side Cruzeiro?

So the story goes like this. Back when EA Sports were releasing TOTW card back in FIFA 11, YouTubers were unhappy that Wallyson never received a TOTW card, so they complained.

Wallyson scored a hat-trick that week, including a ridiculous 48 yard screamer against Corinthians.

Because of all the complaints, EA decided to troll the community by releasing a 48-rated IF Bronze card, but it turns out the player was incredible to use on Ultimate Team, despite the low rating.

Stories of people selling this Wallyson card for 5,000 coins are written on forums across the internet.

Wallyson's 48-rated card contains some impressive stats:

- 77 Curve
- 77 Dribbling
- 86 Finishing
- 90 Long Shots
- 99 Shot Power
- 84 Acceleration
- 83 Agility
- 82 Sprint Speed
- 96 Stamina

The question is, why can't EA Sports do things like this now? It's brilliant.
