Barcelona's first signing following the mega sale of Neymar to Paris Saint-Germain was Paulinho, though his underwhelming transfer was underlined by the amount of shirts the club sold on his arrival.

PSG were selling a Neymar No.10 shirt for £140 a pop. And the club sold over 10,000 in just one bloody day which equates to £1.4 million.

While Paulinho obviously isn't the commercial force compared to his compatriot, selling just ONE shirt is just embarrassing.

I repeat, according to Goal, Barcelona sold just one Paulinho shirt from the clubs mega store on the day of his official unveiling.

The Catalans signed the ex-Spurs midfielder from Chinese Super League side Guangzhou Evergrande for £36.4 million.

He returned to Europe after enduring a miserable spell in the Premier League with Tottenham and In 2015, he joined the Far East revolution.

But after two seasons in China, the 29-year-old is back plying his trade in one of the majors leagues in the world and to be honest, he's been an important member of Ernesto Valverde's squad this season.

At the time, Ernesto Valverde was fresh off not one but two El Clasico defeats. Real Madrid pipped them to the Spanish Super Cup after inflicting their fierce rivals with a 5-1 aggregate defeat.

But now, the Catalan giants sit 15 points ahead of Los Blancos in the table and the likes of Paulinho are laughing at the fact people doubted him upon his arrival at the Camp Nou.

How things have changed in La Liga and how things have changed for Paulinho.

He isn't exactly a fan favourite but he has proved his worth to the Barcelona side - something that many doubted previously.
