Japhet Tanganga Produces Incredible Double Block Against Liverpool On Premier League Debut

Tottenham debutant Japhet Tanganga produced an incredible goal-line block to prevent Liverpool from scoring during their Premier League clash.

Jose Mourinho handed Tanganga his first league start and the youngster wasted no time in repaying his faith as he brilliantly denied Liverpool.

Roberto Firmino ran towards goal and skipped past Christian Eriksen before getting a shot in. But his strike was blocked by Tanganga who then got back to his feet and stopped the ball from going to Mohamed Salah with another important block.

Needless to say, the 20-year-old's defensive heroics sent social media into overdrive.

"What a start from Tottenham Hotspur debutant Japhet Tanganga, saving Spurs with a block in front of goal after Firmino beat Gazzaniga with his shot," one social media user wrote.

A second tweeted: "Not a good start for Tottenham, but good for tanganga for sure."

A third added: "Tanganga proves why he's in the starting XI very early as he makes a fantastic block to deny a great effort from Firmino before cleaning up the rebound. Excellent."

Liverpool went onto win 1-0 thanks to a first half strike from Firmino who fired home from close range in the 37th minute.
