Xavi Simons made his eagerly anticipated debut for Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday night in a friendly against Sochaux.

The 17-year-old, who is one of the most talked about prospects in world football right now, joined Thomas Tuchel at the Parc des Princes last year ahead of the new 2019/20 season after deciding against renewing his contract at Barcelona.

The teenager was tipped for greatness during his time at La Masia but the Catalan side thought that his wage demands were ''totally unassumable", according to reports.

In fact, the club were 'not worried' because their were other talents within the squad with equally as much talent.

PSG went all out to sign the player last summer. The central midfielder reportedly earns €1 million before tax at his new club, according to Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo.

So how did he perform on his highly anticipated senior debut for PSG?

The teenager was brought on in the second half to replace Julian Draxler and looked sharp in the midfield, being involved in a number of promising sequences.

Of course these are early days in Simons' fledging career, but fans are already getting excited after his latest performance.

It's been a few years now since Simons catapulted to fame when his individual YouTube highlights went viral and in the space of a couple of years, he celebrated reaching one million followers on Instagram.

Simons is currently represented by super-agent Mino Raiola, who is a big fan after publicly praising Simons' talent on the pitch.

"Xavi Simons is a great player, young, with potential and a big future." he said in 2018.

"We're good friends. Am I his advisor? It's better to be a friend than an advisor, believe me. Honestly, I am friends with all the players that I represent."
