Having called time on his glittering 19-year career in 2016, Steven Gerrard is working towards becoming a world class manager in football and his latest move to Rangers will be his first real test.

After turning down the managerial role at MK Dons and a chance to continue his playing career at AC Milan, Gerrard took on a coaching role in the Liverpool's youth side in February last year.

As we all know, the former Liverpool midfielder went on to manage the Under 18's and was hugely successful.

The majority of Liverpool fans one day dream of Gerrard becoming their manager at some point in the future, and an interview from last year suggests he will be a hit with any club who hires him.

Are you watching this, Rangers fans?

On BT Sport's Premier League tonight show, Gerrard gave us all a glimpse of how his managerial head thinks:

Gerrard talks about how when he was a young player coming through the ranks, he was obsessed with being the best and would not settle for anything less.

He also stresses to young players that talent will only take them so far, the drive, hunger and desire is the other side of the game.
