Montreal Impact manager Thierry Henry was mic'd up as he patrolled the touchline in Tuesday's defeat to Nashville, giving fans a fascinating view on what it's like to be the boss.

The former Arsenal striker, who was appointed as head coach of the Major League Soccer club in November last year, has enjoyed mixed fortunes in the Eastern Conference of late.

He celebrated a 2-1 win against Inter Miami last week but since, Montreal have lost two on the bounce against New York City and Nashville.

That defeat against Nashville SC, who sit in seventh place, was another disappointing performance from Henry's men and the 43-year-old expressed his concern on the touchline.

Footage of his passionate exploits were posted online during the defeat, showing fans what the former Barcelona, Arsenal and Juventus forward is like as a manager.

I wouldn't want to get on the wrong side of him, that's all I'll say.

Henry isn't the only MLS player to have been given the mic treatment.

In August 2018, Juventus came up against the MLS All-Stars at the Mercedez-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia, where former Aston Villa goalkeeper Brad Guzan was mic'd up for the MLS team.

Guzan could freely communicate with the pundits in the studio during live passages of play.

Although this game was largely an exhibition match and so the end result is not too detrimental, the MLS attempts to allure more fans by offering something different was certainly welcome.

The NFL regularly mics up its athletes for its "Mic'd Up" series, taking fans inside the game while also providing funny moments, but to see this happen in football is refreshing.

Let's bring it to the Premier League next time. We definitely want to see Jose Mourinho mic'd up.
