Premier League champions Manchester City and title contenders Liverpool gave millions of people watching at home a truly memorable 45 minutes of football on Sunday afternoon.

After a forgettable first half in the highly-anticipated clash at Anfield, things ramped up just before the hour mark when Sadio Mane opened the scoring with a tidy finish.

City midfielder Phil Foden, who was superb throughout, soon equalised for Pep Guardiola's side but that goal was cancelled out when the inevitable Mohamed Salah netted one of the goals of the season.

It was a moment of individual brilliance from the Egyptian forward, who was named the Man of the Match by Gary Neville on commentary.

Plenty of Liverpool fans must have thought Salah's wondergoal was enough to seal all three points but just five minutes later, City midfielder Kevin de Bruyne showed great composure with a terrific finish.

It was his first goal of the 2021/21 Premier League campaign.

After the dramatic 2-2 draw at Anfield, Liverpool sit in second place in the Premier League ladder with 15 points from seven games, while Manchester City sit in third with 14 points.

How good was that, then?
