Mateo Messi Shows Shades Of Lionel Messi With 'Baller' Skills In Piggy In The Middle Game

Mateo Messi Roccuzzo showed shades of Lionel Messi with a brilliant display of footwork, passing and ball control during a piggy in the middle-style session.

The five-year-old, who is Messi's second-born son after Thiago Messi Roccuzzo, left fans in complete awe with his "baller" skills.

Messi uploaded the footage to his Instagram account, which has received over a staggering 20m views at the time of this writing.

During the clip, Mateo effortlessly pinged passes around during piggy in the middle and pulled off a sublime Messi-esque touch to avoid an incoming tackle.

One Twitter user wrote: "Mateo is very energetic and powerful. He thinks very fast and hits the ball so hard."

While another tweeted: "Holy f**k, Mateo got some skills. It's too much but I got the Messi vibe from him."

And a third added: "Mateo is a baller."

A fourth said: "Matteo made the poor boy take a knee."

Someone else posted: "Matteo Messi... Generational baller incoming."

Messi, 34, has been on holiday with his family in Miami and earning a much-needed break after leading Argentina to the Copa America trophy this summer.

The Argentine forward picked up the best player award and tied with Luis Diaz for the top scorer award at the 2021 Copa America.

Messi has since returned to Barcelona ahead of signing a new deal with the Spanish club.

The Barcelona legend, who has been a free agent since July, will ink a five-year contract and take a whopping 50 per cent pay cut.

Barcelona president Joan Laporta recently assured fans that the six-time Ballon d'Or winner's contract renewal was "progressing adequately."

He told Spanish newspaper Marca: "He [Messi] is very happy, and so are we.

"I am happy for Leo who has managed, with his teammates, to ensure Argentina are again within the elite.

"I am happy for Messi's family, for Argentina, for Barca, who are loved by, and bonded to Leo. Messi's contract renewal is progressing adequately."
