Manchester City Plan To Build Spectacular Training Base In London For Away Trips

Different levels.

Manchester City players can potentially forget about staying in fancy 5* hotels for away trips, because according to reports, the club are planning to build a multi-million pound training facility in London.

Claims that City want to gain an extra advantage by staying in their own camp - already labelled 'Etihad II - rather than hotels are given as a reason why, with a large chunk of Premier League clubs based in the south.

It would incorporate similar features to the current £200 million training complex in Manchester, which includes luxury beds, bathrooms and a canteen, as well as a state of the art pitch, where Guardiola can plan sessions before match-day.

You can see how a team could gain an advantage from these plans, but City hardly need it based on their current form in all competitions.

Guardiola's side have won six of their past seven away games, and sit at the top of the Premier League ladder, 14 points ahead of local rivals Manchester United, while Liverpool sit just two points behind the Blues.

If they do indeed build a training facility in London, the club can further practice 'The Wall' drill.

That's right. Manchester City were inspired from the great Eric Cantona last season when they performed the drill. If you haven't heard the story before, Cantona used to kick a ball at a wall before training to practice his skills.

Youth players would soon follow his lead and Cantona soon set a trend amongst the squad. The ultimate leader.

Anyway, Pep Guardiola's side have recently used the simple technique involving a wall in a recent training session and it's since gone viral.

Basically, If your team let's the ball drop then you must complete a group sprint. The coaches will count the scores based on passes completed within the set time. The teams will then progress to headers.

Unfortunately for the losing team, they must pass through the slap tunnel at the end of the session.

As you can see in the footage below, former player Yaya Toure takes his turn and teammates begin to sing the classic Yaya Toure song.

Brilliant.
