The decline of Alexis Sanchez has been well documented in recent months but this is unexpected.

Sanchez has struggled to find any sort of form since his move from Arsenal in the January transfer window, and a piece of information that has been leaked from Manchester United training sums up his time at Old Trafford.

According to reports, the Chilean is said to have been beaten in a sprint race by Juan Mata during a session at Carrington.

Mata isn't exactly blessed with pace, so the results are a tad surprising to say the least.

The Independent report that Arsenal felt that Sanchez was in physical decline during his time at the club and now he's suffering from physical burn-out because of the amount of games he played last season, as well as previous campaigns.

Sanchez consistently played 38 games plus under Arsene Wenger, so it's no surprise that the 29-year-old is struggling with injuries

He is currently out with a hamstring injury and has struggled for fitness since his move, but it doesn't sound like he'll get in Mourinho's plans any time soon.

The report goes on to claim that Mourinho does not consider him to be a certain starter in the team, and he is open to allowing Sanchez to leave the club.

He has already been linked with a move away from Old Trafford, with the likes of Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan reportedly interested.

Thoughts on Sanchez's current situation at Manchester United at the moment?
