Post-match footage of Lionel Messi entering the Barcelona dressing room highlights the sheer amount of respect and admiration every single player has for him.

In the clip, cameras follow the six-time Ballon d'Or winner as he makes his way towards the Nou Camp dressing room.

He walks past a number of security guards, who all give admiring nods, before bumping into teammates Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba in the corridor.

It just gives us a sense of how influential Messi is within the squad as his future at the Catalan giants continues to make headlines.

Back in February, Messi's importance off the pitch was once again broadcast when Barca faced Real Valladolid in a game that had become even more important following Atletico Madrid's loss the previous night.

The first half was particularly difficult for the Catalan giants, with manager Ronald Koeman having to change tactics at half time, and it led Messi to give a rallying cry at the break.

A camera in the tunnel picked up his speech to teammates before they went back out onto the pitch.

"Let's move it from one side to the other that they receive width to the space." he was heard saying. "We are going to put more rhythm or it is going to complicate us. You have to put one more gear. Only one goal, only one goal."

Messi's influence is undeniable and in 2019, following the Joan Gamper Trophy match against Boca Juniors, he gave a brilliant speech to the crowd telling them they would be hoping to secure a Champions League trophy.

"We still have some unfinished business in the Champions League - more than anything - because of the way we were knocked out of the competition," Messi stressed.

"We promise we will do everything possible so much that the coveted Champions League will come back to Camp Nou."

Of course, they failed to lift Europe's most coveted prize that year but his speech must have given his teammates a real lift.

Do you think Lionel Messi will stay at Barcelona for the rest of his career?
