Let's be honest here, Manchester United's pre-season has been more negative than positive for the majority.

That being said, one shining light in an otherwise average US tour has been Andreas Pereira, a player who is keen to make an impact under Jose Mourinho this season.

Pereira's ability to look up and spot a forward pass would give the team a real boost next season. In previous campaigns, Manchester United have missed someone who can create from the centre for the likes of Romelu Lukaku.

In last night's game against AC Milan, the 22-year-old, who was on loan at Valencia last season, gave the manager another reason why he must be involved in some way in the coming months.

Check out his individual highlights below from the pre-season friendly against Milan above.

It looks like Pereira wants to stay at Old Trafford in the near future and has expressed his ambition ti play regularly.

"It's my intention to stay here and help the club and help the team," Pereira said.

"Of course, that's my first intention, so I want to do everything what I can to stay at the club and help United this season. I think it was on my personal level needed to play another season regularly and it was good for me as well.

"I think it's good for the team and the club that I'm more prepared now than last year. I spoke with him [Mourinho] about that and now this season I want to stay and do my best for the club.

"I feel a better player now than last year."
