Sergio Ramos has spoken following reports of the Real Madrid skipper allegedly failing a drug test.

On Friday night, Der Spiegel dropped a huge leak. They claimed Ramos p*ssed hot for Glucocorticoid Dexamethasone after the 2017 Champions League final in Cardiff, Wales.

The report also adds that UEFA covered it up with no action taken against Ramos.

Real Madrid have since responded and so has Ramos following the clubs humiliating defeat to Eibar.

"That is a very difficult issue, complicated. I must come out and defend myself, with my legal team, against these allegations," Ramos said.

"I have been through 250 or 300 doping tests over my career, and never failed one, there has never been any irregularity.

"We know the type of publication this is. They threatened us with the news a month and a half ago.

"When you know the truth, you are not afraid of lies. It is an attempt to stain my image and my professional reputation."

In a statement released shortly after the leak, Real Madrid backed their star man.

"With regards to the reports published by Der Spiegel in relation to our captain, Sergio Ramos, the club wishes to express the following: Sergio Ramos has never breached anti-doping regulations.

"UEFA requested specific information and immediately closed the case referred to, as is customary in such instances, following tests carried out by experts from the World Anti-Doping Association (WADA) and UEFA itself."

Meanwhile, Ramos started for Real Madrid on Saturday as Eibar thrashed his side 3-0.

Gonzalo Escalante, Sergi Enrich and Kike all got the score-sheet as the Spanish minnows secured an impressive La Liga victory.

The Champions League holders are back in action next Tuesday as they play AS Roma.
