What a night.

Many had began to think about hitting the sack after another day of eating leftover turkey and pigs in blankets, but at around 11pm UK time last night, Samir Nasri's Twitter account left us all refreshing our live feeds in pure anticipation.

The majority believe Samir Nasri's ex-girlfriend Anara Atanes was behind the brutal 'hacking after hinting on Instagram that she was the culprit behind the former Arsenal midfielder's tweets about Drip Doctor, who had provided the 29-year-old with some 'medical assistance' in America.

Despite suggestions the pair had split, Nasri and Alanes moved in together when he joined Sevilla on loan in 2016, but the pair have previously had a unpredictable relationship - like last night's incredible series of events.

Nasri's account literally went viral after several NSFW tweets were posted. Here are examples of the tweets, but we reported on the story in full last night.

Hours after the tweets were deleted, the Sevilla player confirmed that his Twitter account was hacked and apologised for the incident.

Here's what he posted in the early hours of Wednesday morning:

Ex-girlfriend Anna also posted on social media before and after the incident, with hints that she may have been behind the hack.

She commented on the photo of Nasri and one of the Drip Doctors team, with the comment "You also provide a full sexual service with it too."

Then she posted this picture on her Instagram page

It certainly escalated fast.

It was certainly a moment Samir Nasri won't forget in a hurry, that's for sure.
