Several teams are keeping tabs on his progress with the Gunners hopeful of securing his services to add depth and competition to Unai Emery's midfield according to reports.

Ahead of a potential move to Arsenal, Khedira has been soaking up the atmosphere in North London for the club's pre-season friendly against Lyon.

Naturally, Khedira's presence at the Emirates got Arsenal fans talking. Here's some reaction from Twitter:

"Need to be getting a CB, I don't hate Khedira but this ain't it," one Twitter user wrote.

A second tweeted: "COME TO THE GUNNERS YA YAAAAA Sami Khedira."

A third said: "Khedira is at the Emirates to watch Arsenal. Although not the player he once was, he is better then every midfielder currently at the club and will bring loads of experience as well as a winning mentality if he does join! Hope this one pulls through!"

A fourth added: "Give the medical team something to do now Welbeck's gone."

While another said: "Why are we not in for him? Experienced CDM with leadership qualities available for little money. Get it done Arsenal."
