Ryan Bertrand Shown Straight Red Card For Horror Tackle On Ayoze Perez

Ryan Bertrand Shown Straight Red Card For Horror Tackle On Ayoze Perez

Ryan Bertrand was shown a straight red card for a reckless tackle on Ayoze Perez with VAR reviewing the dangerous challenge.

Leicester City opened the scoring in the 10th minute and Southampton's misery was compounded shortly after as Andre Marriner brandished a red card to Bertrand.

Following Ben Chilwell's goal, VAR reviewed Bertrand's tackle and the Southampton full-back left Marriner with no option other than to give him his marching orders.

Needless to say, Bertrand's foul was the talk of the first-half.

"That's a red everyday of the week. Good call," one Twitter user wrote.

A second Tweeted: "Good decision for once."
