Hours after Robinho was sentenced to nine years in prison after being found guilty of sexual assault, the former Manchester City and Real Madrid forward has responded to the serious allegations on Instagram.
If you didn't manage to catch the story on Thursday, it was reported that the Brazilian sexually assaulted a 22-year-old Albanian woman in a Milan disco on January 22, 2013.
Five other men have also been found guilty as part of the same case.

Football Italia claimed that Robinho and the other men gang-raped the woman.
As mentioned above, the Brazilian was handed a nine year sentence by Italian authorities but in his recent Instagram post, the 33-year-old has denied any involvement in the incident.
On Friday morning, Robinho posted the following message: "On the news involving the forward Robinho, relating to events of a few years ago, we would like to clarify that he already defended himself from the accusations, saying he had no involvement with the episode."

The Italian Justice System does allow for 'several levels of appeal' which means the verdict cannot be enforced until the appeals process is completed.
The court has, however, ordered the victim to receive £53,431.02 as compensation for her suffering.
Former Real Madrid and Manchester City striker Robinho does have the right to two appeals, according to The Mirror.
