Real Madrid have struggled in their opening three La Liga games and unfortunately for Los Blancos, their bad luck has continued after news emerged that striker Karim Benzema will be out for 4-6 weeks.

On the opening day of the season, Zidane's side recorded an impressive win against Deportivo.

But draws against Levante and Valencia have sparked concern amongst supporters and the latest news surrounding Benzema will heighten those doubts.

Benzema suffered a hamstring injury during Madrid's 1-1 draw against Levante on Saturday, and fears of a possible lay-off have been confirmed by Spanish publication AS.

Zinedine Zidane's side have missed Cristiano Ronaldo's contribution in recent weeks, as the Spanish giants continue to struggle.

But the French striker's contribution is often played down, despite stats from last season that prove the 29-year-old is a huge player for Los Blancos.

Madrid scored 81 goals in the 27 league matches when he played last season, a sign that Madrid need him to both supply and convert from the likes of Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo.

The striker has continued to prove his importance in Madrid's side for several years, with this mazy run against Atletico Madrid a prime example of his talents.

Seemingly cramped in a blind alley down the left flank, the Real number nine rinsed a trio of players and squared for Toni Kroos, who drew an excellent save out of Jan Oblak.
