Joey Barton has been suspended for a further week by Rangers - and now Gers fans reckons that their club could be handling the situation a lot better.

Barton was due back at Ibrox tomorrow after serving a three-week suspension following a bust-up with team-mate Andy Halliday and manager Mark Warburton but, according to the BBC, Barton has been told to stay away for a further week, as part of a formal disciplinary procedure.

All in all, that'll mean the former Newcastle and QPR man will have been absent for over a month, and it now looks unlikely that he'll ever pull on the famous blue jersey again. The 34-year-old still has more than 18 months to run on his two-year deal, which is thought to be worth around £25,000 per week.

Are Rangers going to pay him off, or welcome him back? A lot of supporters just want answers:

What do you make of the debacle? Could Rangers have handled the entire episode a lot more efficiently? Have your say in the comments section, below.
