Russia's second goal scorer Denis Cheryshev got plenty of people talking including Gary Neville who offered his insight on the player.
Cheryshev plies his club trade in Spain's La Liga with Villarreal after coming through the ranks at Real Madrid.
He's also experienced a loan spell at Valencia under the managerial tutelage of Neville.
And after his heroics - which also included a stunning stoppage time goal, the boys in the ITV studio highlighted his performance with Mark Pougatch asking Neville about Cheryshev.
"You had Cheryshev on loan at Valencia, didn't you?" Pougatch said.

Neville, who endured a nightmarish stint at Mestalla Stadium, replied hilariously: "Yeah he came on loan for about 4 or 5 months...he was actually there longer than me."
Brilliant, Gary.
