Police Investigating Footage Of Mohamed Salah Allegedly Using Mobile Phone Behind Wheel
Liverpool Football Club have confirmed they have made Merseyside Police aware of the footage and circumstances surrounding a clip of Mohamed Salah allegedly using his phone behind the wheel.
If you haven't come across the footage yet, it shows the Egyptian surrounded by a number of fans as he sits in his Mercedes-Benz.
It looks like the player fails to acknowledge those around him and continues to use his phone while driving his vehicle.
Merseyside Police's official Twitter account released a statement earlier confirming that they are aware of the clip and have passed it onto the relevant department:
"We have been made aware of a video believed to show a footballer using a mobile phone whilst driving." it read.
"This has been passed to the relevant department. Thanks for letting us know."
A Liverpool spokesman has also commented on the above incident, confirming that the club passed it onto the police:
"The club, after discussion with the player, have made Merseyside Police aware of the footage and the circumstances surrounding its capture,"
"We have spoken to the player also and will deal with any follow-up internally. Neither the club or player will be making any further comment on this matter."
Footage apparently showing Liverpool's Mo Salah using his mobile phone while driving has been referred to police by his club. A video posted online appeared to show the player sitting in traffic as a number of people, including children, gathered near his car before he drove off.
