Stamford Bridge's current top earner is Eden Hazard on £220K-per-week, Kanté's reported new five-year deal is worth £15m a season, roughly doubling his current earnings and eclipsing Hazard's wage
Chelsea will not allow Kanté to head for the continent, but nor has the player asked to leave.
The midfielder has quickly established himself as a fan favourite in England since his arrival at Leicester City from Ligue 1 side Caen for £5.6m in 2015.
Kanté formed a holy trinity of sorts with Riyad Mahrez and Jamie Vardy at Leicester, helping them to their first premier league title in his first season.

His standout performances and work rate earnt him a move to Chelsea for roughly £30m, where he once again won the title in his first season at the club.
Kanté played in every game for France at this summer's World Cup, recovering the ball more often than any other squad member. Manager Didier Deschamps referred to Kanté as the "essential element" as France brought the trophy home.
What a player. Despite his increase in wage, I'm guessing he will remain with his beloved Mini Cooper.
