It's got football fans talking.

Danny Murphy has claimed that if Liverpool or Manchester United were in the Europa League final, their fans would've filled the Baku Olympic Stadium.

The Europa League final between Chelsea vs. Arsenal was subject to intense scrutiny for the lack of people inside the ground.

Both Chelsea and Arsenal failed to sellout their allocation with the pair of clubs returning a load of tickets.

However, Murphy believes Chelsea and Arsenal fans should've tried harder to get to the final in Baku.

"The simple fact is that if Liverpool or [Manchester] United were in that final there wouldn't be empty seats in that stadium," he said on talkSPORT.

"They would get there and they would support their team. Liverpool supporters would have filled that stadium.

"It's not an opinion, it's a fact," he added.

Naturally, Murphy's comments didn't go down too well on social media. Here's some reaction from Twitter:

UEFA's decision to hold the Europa League final in Azerbaijan was a farce. Travel and accommodation were a nightmare with no direct flights from London and hotels costing a bomb.

Murphy's view on the Europa League final reeks of arrogance and disrespect.
