It was confirmed on Friday afternoon that Mohamed Salah would come up against his former club in the semi-final of the Champions League.

Salah, who has bagged 39 goals this season in a prolific first campaign at Liverpool, has recently revealed what his former teammates think of the potential tie against Jurgen Klopp's side and it might reveal their mentality ahead of the first leg clash at Anfield.

In an interview with CNN, the 25-year-old spilled the beans about how they feel about facing the Premier League side:

"They've all said: 'We don't want to play against Liverpool.' It would be nice to go back to Rome, it's my old club. I love the fans there and they love me too." Salah said.

"I still talk to most of the players there. We were very close to each other and we are good friends. Of course, I have happy memories. We played together for two years and were fighting together in all the games. We had a good time in the dressing room. "

Plenty have reacted to the comments, with many questioning their mentality for the tie on April 24.

Just like AS Roma advertised, they were drawn with Liverpool in the Champions League semi-final and immediately after the fixtures were confirmed, they contacted former player Salah.

Even if he continues his prolific form in Europe, the club have promised to remain friends for life.

Salah soon responded and everybody applauded the gesture, but all of those feelings will surely be put aside when the teams do battle.
