Mohamed Salah Did Something Incredible For The Manager Who Refused To Sign Him Because 'He Wasn't Good Enough'

This man can do no wrong!

Liverpool's main man Mohamed Salah produced an incredible gesture for the man who didn't though he'd make it as a youngster.

The Egyptian scored his 39th goal of the season yesterday, notching a delicate chip against Manchester City in the Champions League quarter final win.

But once upon a time, a man who was in attendance to see Salah back in November was former president Mamdouh Abbas, who didn't sign him for his local club Zamalek SC back in his youth.

There's been no official report from Liverpool or Salah, but the story has been retweeted by reliable African football journalist Mark Gleeson.

The gesture from Salah shows how graceful he is. Yesterday, we told you how he gave a thief, who stole from his family home, some money to get his life up and running. He even tried to help him find a job.

And now this latest story has being doing the rounds. What a bloke.

Again this is a really brilliant story that shows how classy Salah is off the pitch, as well as on it. He endured a difficult time at Chelsea after his big move from Basel, but rebuilt his career in Serie A with Roma, scoring 34 goals in two seasons.

He was then snapped up by Liverpool, who were keen on him four years back when Brendan Rodgers was in charge, for a club-record fee.

The 25-year old has been an utterly revelation this season, topping the Premier League scoring charts.

But as per the reliable Paul Joyce from The Times, Liverpool looked at three other wingers before they turned to the former Basel man. Borussia Dortmund's Christian Pulisic and Julian Brandt, both heavily touted as making the switch to Anfield, along with Julian Draxler of PSG, were higher up on Jurgen Klopp's shortlist.

"Liverpool scouted about 15 wide players between missing out on Salah and signing him," Joyce writes.

"Klopp has conceded that it was Dave Fallows, head of scouting and recruitment, Barry Hunter, the chief scout, and Michael Edwards, the sporting director, whose background checks extended to spying missions at training camps as well as matches, who constantly pushed his case.

"[He joined] only after Liverpool had looked at other targets. Borussia Dortmund refused to let Christian Pulisic leave, Julian Draxler was pursued last January, opting to move instead to Paris Saint-Germain from Wolfsburg, and Julian Brandt chose to stay at Bayer Leverkusen fearing that he would not play regularly at Anfield."
