Arsenal have got some work to do next week after they slumped to a disappointing 2-1 defeat in their Europa League semi-final first leg clash against Villarreal.
Mikel Arteta's side conceded in the opening minutes of Thursday night's tie when Manu Trigueros blasted one past Bernd Leno to give the hosts a deserved lead.
The Gunners continued to struggle in large spells, and it didn't take long for defender Raul Albiol to get on the scoresheet to make it 2-0 on the half-hour mark.

Things went from bad to worse in the second-half when Spanish midfielder Dani Ceballos, who was already walking a tightrope after receiving a yellow card earlier, was sent for an early bath by the official.
The 24-year-old stepped on Dani Parejo's foot after a loose pass from Pepe as the Premier League side went down to ten men.
Dani Ceballos has been sent off for a second bookable offence!

Many believe the Arsenal boss should have brought Ceballos off earlier. Perhaps Arteta himself thought exactly that judging by his reaction to the dismissal.

I never want to see Ceballos play for Arsenal again. Can't believe he wasn't taken off at half-time whilst on a yellow card. Stupidity from both him and Arteta for not hauling him off.

100% Arteta's fault for leaving Ceballos on the pitch after 45 mins. Should've made a substitution. Extremely passive in-game management.

Absolutely everyone could see Ceballos had to come off but not Arteta. Shameful.

With just 20 minutes to go, Nicolas Pepe gave the away side a lifeline after scoring a crucial goal from the penalty spot to make it 2-1.
Villarreal then went down to ten men after former Spurs midfielder Etienne Capoue was shown a second yellow card.
Can Mikel Arteta's side stage a comeback next week in the semi-final, second leg?
