Mesut Ozil marked his sensational return to the Arsenal starting XI with an outrageous backheel assist against Liverpool in the League Cup.

And the 22-year-old managed to knock the ball wide of Caoimhin Kelleher, which was heading out wide until Ozil intervened.
The ex-Real Madrid playmaker brilliantly pulled off a backheel to keep the ball from going out of play and directing it into the path of Maitland-Niles, who buried it into the back of the net.
Fans have wasted no time in flooding Twitter with praise for Ozil's magnificent assist.
Liverpool took the early lead at Anfield after Shkodran Mustafi bundled the ball into the back of his own net.

But Emery's men fought back hard and mounted a successful first-half comeback when Lucas Torreira equalised for the Gunners before Gabriel Martinelli completed his brace before half-time.
Milner would pull one back for Liverpool from the spot-kick before half-time, only for Ozil to produce his magical assist in the second half and Maitland-Niles putting Arsenal 4-2 up.
Goals from Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Divock Origi would level the scores, but Joe Willock would break the deadlock with a sensational strike into the top corner of the net.
Full-time result: Liverpool forward Origi scored a dramatic injury-time equaliser to force the clash into a penalty shootout. The Reds beat Arsenal 5-4 on penalties and have knocked the Gunners out of the League Cup.
