Lionel Messi produced a world-class assist as he unlocked the Real Valladolid backline and set up Arturo Vidal for Barcelona's second.
The reigning La Liga champions took the lead early on at the Camp Nou when Messi crossed the ball into the area and Clement Lenglet's effort went in off the underside of the bar.
And the 32-year-old Argentine superstar stepped up when his side conceded after Marc-Andre ter Stegen fumbled the ball from a free-kick and Kiko pounced on the loose ball.
Barca midfielder Vidal linked up with Messi in the midfield and darted into the box as the club captain waited for the opportunity to pull off a perfect chip.
The Barcelona captain lofted the ball into the box and took five Valladolid players out of action as Vidal latched on to the chip and buried the ball past Jordi Masip.

Messi would continue to showcase his brilliance as he buried a magnificent 35-yard free-kick to put Barcelona 3-1 up before half-time.
The Argentina captain has now scored 50 free-kicks in his career, 44 of which came with Barcelona and six for his country.
Messi would return in the second half to complete his brace as he hammered a low, powerful shot past Masip to put Barcelona 4-1 up.
And the Argentine forward would continue to torment Valladolid as he unlocked their defence again minutes later with a magnificent pass to Luis Suarez, who slotted in Barca's fifth with a cool finish.
