Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Luke Shaw both put in impressive shifts during Manchester United's 9-0 thrashing of Southampton at Old Trafford on Tuesday.

Wan-Bissaka, who was initially signed for Β£45m from Crystal Palace in 2019, has established himself as United's first-choice right-back under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

While the 23-year-old United star has been praised for his defensive ability, he has been criticised for the attacking threat he provides to the Red Devils.

However, Wan-Bissaka was the first name on the scoresheet as United ran riot against the Saints in their Premier League clash.

Shaw, meanwhile, has had to frequently overcome injuries during his time at Old Trafford and has often been criticised for not living up to the Β£30m fee United splashed out in 2014.

And the 25-year-old left-back's place in the United starting XI seemed uncertain last summer after United acquired the services of Alex Telles from Porto.

Shaw has since risen to the occasion and been praised for some of his performances this season, which included picking up two assists in United's 9-0 win over Southampton.

Now, a Twitter user has created a compilation to show why United fans should be buzzing over Wan-Bissaka and Shaw's performances.

Other fans have flocked to Twitter and made bold comparisons between Wan-Bissaka and Shaw to former Barcelona star Dani Alves and Brazil legend Roberto Carlos respectively.

Goals from Wan-Bissaka, Marcus Rashford, Jan Bednarek and Edinson Cavani put United 4-0 up at half-time, with Southampton reduced to 10 men in the first two minutes after Alex Jankewitz's reckless challenge.

Southampton's woes continued as Bednarek was sent off in the second half as Anthony Martial scored a brace and Scott McTominay, Bruno Fernandes and Dan James all added their names to the scoresheet.

United are currently second in the league and level on points with rivals Manchester City, though Pep Guardiola's side have two matches in hand.
