Is Lionel Messi's game a bit off tonight? Well, some fans certainly think so and they have a theory explaining his underwhelming first-half performance.

Messi had the chance to level the game following Divock Origi's opener, but he fluffed his lines from inside Liverpool's box.

Joel Matip brilliantly intercepted Messi when it seemed like an equalising goal was destined.

The Liverpool defender prevented him from scoring and fans reckon the Argentine maestro was still reeling from his early exchange with Andy Robertson.

The Scottish full-back left one early on Messi in the opening stages. He shoved his head in an aggressive manner with the Barcelona skipper clearly unhappy.

Will Messi steer his side to the Champions League final?
