Not many players get to experience wearing the Three Lions, but one man who embodies the spirit of playing for your country is Paul Gascoigne.

The 51-year-old has never been afraid to show his passion and loyalty to England down the years and in a recent social media post, 'Gazza' has described what it was really like to play alongside the likes of Terry Butcher.

He also mentions legendary manager Sir Bobby Robson, the man who grabbed him when Butcher famously walked off the pitch with a bloody head and a bandage.

Now this is what is means to play for your country.

"I asked Terry 'are you okay?' he just said 'F*** Gazza, I feel nothing, this is England, this is my house and no f****r comes into my house and takes anything.' Sir Bobby Robson grabbed me and said 'that's what it means to play for your country.'"

If you ask those who had the chance of playing with Paul Gascoigne during his remarkable 19 year career, almost everyone will reminisce a funny story about the former Tottenham midfielder.

But this serious tale really brings home how much England meant in the 1989.

Whatever your feelings towards the man, you can't deny that he was and still is an entertainer to the masses.

In fact, Gascoigne has recently brought his hilarious character to the world of Twitter and well, the 50-year-old from Gateshead has well and truly changed the game.

From taking the absolute piss out of Colin Hendry for 'that' moment against Scotland at Euro 96 to donating £1,000 to a girl whose speech machine was stolen from her dad's car. 'Gazza' has produced moments of magic on the social media platform.
