In Gennaro Gattuso's first game in charge of AC Milan, their opponents Benevento managed to score a 95th minute equaliser thanks to a wonderful header from goalkeeper Alberto Brignoli.
Gattuso was understandably fuming towards the end as the entire Benevento squad proceeded to run after the 28-year-old goalkeeper, who's celebration topped off a wonderful final minute at the Stadio Ciro Vigorito.
The fact that Benevento lost their first 14 games in Serie A, only scoring six goals in the process, just piles on the misery for Gattuso, who reacted in typical fashion in his post match interview.
Speaking to Sky Sport via The Mirror after the game, Gattuso said:
"Maybe it would've been better to get stabbed than concede this goal. I never expected to suffer like that, taking a goal from the goalkeeper in the 95th minute.
I have to thank the guys for their desire and commitment. We tried hard. I cannot reproach my players for anything today."
Gattuso went on to describe how Milan lacked personality in the game, eventually admitting that his team were punished for their mistakes.
"I saw a great sense of belonging and there is great disappointment in the dressing room. I do not blame my team; we have to improve, we have lost a lot of outgoing balls, we could have developed some actions better, we lacked a bit of personality.
"[But] the team were alive. Unfortunately we were punished for our mistakes."
Gattuso will try and bring back the glory days of old, and he certainly knows how it feels to be a winner. He won the Champions League, Serie A and Copa Italia titles during his 13 year spell at the San Siro. becoming a club legend in the process.
But today's game hasn't filled Milan fans with much hope.
Can he turn their fortunes around in the coming months?
Let us know in the comments.
