Kylian Mbappe was heard saying "we can't play with this guy", just moments before players from Paris Saint-Germain and Istanbul Basaksehir walked off the pitch in solidarity during their Champions League Group H tie.

Tuesday night's clash at the Parc des Princes decended into choas when Istanbul assistant manager Pierre Webo, a former Cameroon international, was shown a red card by the referee before claiming that fourth official Sebastian Coltescu had used a racist term against him.

Istanbul striker Demba Ba then confronted the match official who allegedly made a racist comment and things escalated quickly. During lengthy discussions on the pitch, the likes of Neymar and Mbappe were certainly vocal in their protests, with the latter making his voice heard.

Minutes later and both teams showed solidarity by walking off the pitch following the alleged racist incident.

During that time, a number of players took to social media to voice their thoughts on the incident, including Paris Saint-Germain forward Mbappe, who threw his support behind Istanbul assistant Pierre Webo with a "say no to racism" message on his official Twitter account.

UEFA released the following statement claiming the match would continue with another fourth official but the Group H clash was eventually suspended after hours of uncertainty.

"Following an alleged incident involving the fourth official, the match was temporarily suspended. After consultation with both teams, it was agreed that the match would restart with a different fourth official." the statement read.

"UEFA will thoroughly investigate the matter and further communication will be made in due course."

Romanian journalist Emanuel Rosu has since translated the incident involving fourth official Sebastian Coltescu.

"The diallogue [sic] between the refs in full: 'The black one over there. Go and check who he is. The black one over there, it's not poasible [sic] to act like that.'"

PSG vs Istanbul Basaksehir will now be played on Wednesday evening at 5:55pm GMT.
