Barcelona Reject White Away Kit For 2019/20 Season Proposed By Nike

It is being reported that Barcelona have straight up rejected a kit proposal from Nike for the upcoming 2020/21 season.

The cross of Sant Jordin is incorporated in the design, which is predominately filled with a white background and blue outlines, but Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo claim that the Catalan giants have turned down the idea.

In addition to the shirt, the likes of Lionel Messi and Ousmane Dembele would have sported white shorts and socks, accompanied by sleek blue and red lines.

That simply will not come to fruition, despite many feeling the design is smart and sleek.

So why have they rejected the proposal?

It is believed the white detailing used by Kappa in the early 1990s caused controversy, not to mention the fact bitter rivals Real Madrid wear white over at the Bernabeu.

Barcelona's 2019/20 home shirt will feature a design that is very different to what the club normally opt for, though midfielder Ivan Rakitic will be used to it.

As we know, the Blaugrana's colours are red and blue, with stripes the normal design for them.

Sometimes they've switched it up and had half and half, while the 2015/16 campaign saw Luis Enrique's treble-winners don hoops on their home shirt.

But it looks as though next season's home shirt is moving into an entirely new direction.

As per Catalan outlet SPORT, the La Liga champions will be sporting a chequered square design that looks awfully similar to Croatia's traditional home colours.
