Ki-Jana Hoever Sent Off For Liverpool U23's 'In The Worst Decision In The History Of Football'
Ki-Jana Hoever received a red card for Liverpool under-23's and it's being described as 'possibly the worst decision in the history of football'.
Liverpool had to play over 70 minutes of football with just 10 men after Ki-Jana Hoever was sent off in ludicrous fashion.
The 16-year-old was inexplicably shown a straight red card for his challenge on Brighton's striker.
Hoever and his defensive partner failed to deal with a long ball. The Dutch starlet was then shoved off the ball with the Brighton forward racing down on goal.
He appeared to clip his legs as the player hit the floor with the referee awarding a free-kick, as well as a red card to the Liverpool teenager.
And here is that decision. Hoever sent off for, well, not really sure ♂️ pic.twitter.com/PU6wjNGxtP- Fordman_Art (@Fordman_R) January 14, 2019
Extremely harsh. Fans certainly thought so, too.
Hoever was furious with the decision. He had to be pulled away by a teammate when he went towards the linesman after the red was shown. It's exactly a week since his first-team debut... #LFC- Glenn Price (@GlennPrice94) January 14, 2019

Ki Jana Hoever's red today has me doubting the point of football on the whole.- That Firmino Smile (@MichiganLfc) January 14, 2019
Quite possibly the worst call in football history. Not the last defender, not a dangerous tackle... just a simple foul just outside the box.
