Compilation Of Joao Cancelo Vs Borussia Monchengladbach Shows Why He Is The Best Full-Back In World Football

A Joao Cancelo compilation has highlighted the Manchester City star's phenomenal Champions League performance as fans have branded him the best full-back in world football.

The 26-year-old Portuguese right-back was snapped up from Juventus in 2019 as part of a £27.4m deal plus Danilo to Juventus.

Cancelo struggled to establish himself as Pep Guardiola's first-choice right-back ahead of Kyle Walker in his first season in the Premier League.

However, the former Juventus and Inter Milan star has thrived as a versatile full-back and showed what he is capable of from the left-back position on Wednesday.

City travelled to the Puskas Arena in Hungary for their first-leg round-of-16 clash against Borussia Monchengladbach.

Bernardo Silva fired City into the lead in the first half after a superb cross from Cancelo.

Cancelo cuts in onto his right foot before swinging in the perfect cross, with Silva superbly running to meet the ball and his bouncing header beating Yann Sommer with ease.

A fan has now produced a compilation to highlight Cancelo's stunning performance against Monchengladbach.

"Cancelo is shaping up to be one of, if not, THE best full-backs in world football," one fan tweeted.

While another posted: "I've been shouting this. Cancelo is the best full-back in the league. Man even plays midfield."

Someone else wrote: "Cancelo and Pep are creating a new full-back role right before our eyes."

A fourth fan added: "Cancelo is such a brilliant crosser of the ball, best full-back in world football."

And a fifth said: "Cancelo has [sic] went from a disappointing signing to the best full-back in the league in one season. Sensational player."

Gabriel Jesus doubled City's lead in the second half as Guardiola's side put themselves in a strong position ahead of the second leg.

City will host Monchengladbach at the Etihad for the return leg on the 16th March.
